CLEVELAND - On a day that started with rain, the Indians and Jays didn't even get to start their twin bill until nearly two hours after it was supposed to. When they finally did get going, they played a back and forth slug fest, complete with a inning that saw the Tribe put up a seven spot, and finally after nine innings the teams were deadlocked at nine. Finally in the 11th it was Yangervis Solarte who put the final nail in the Indians coffin, as he slammed a two-out grand slam that gave the Jays a 13-9 advantage, a lead they would hold on to for an eventual 13-11 win. With just about every player on the roster seeing playing time in Carlos Hyde Jersey game one, the Tribe could really use a big outing from spot starter Adam Pluto in game two. Here's some takeaways from the lo s that drops the Indians to 16-14 after 30 games in 2018.1. The Pen Gets Weaker The Indians already frail bullpen took another blow in game one, as the team lost pitcher Nick Goody with what's being Chris Jones Jersey called (at the moment) right elbow inflammation. The team quickly placed him on the 10-day DL and called up reliever Evan Marshall and purchased his contract from AAA Columbus, also making a move and putting Danny Salazar on the 60-day DL. The team has had so many i sues with the pen as of late, and while Goody wasn't exactly pitching well (eight earned runs on 10 hits in his last four outings), but he was an arm out of the pen and right now the team is looking at all options for pitchers that can get hitters out once the starter leaves the game. The pen again had more woes in game one, as after Carlos Carrasco left after giving up six runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings, the pen allowed seven runs in 5.2 innings. Right now the Sammie Coates Jersey team has to find some arms that can get players out - wherever they can.Scroll to Continue2. Wasted Offensive Effort The offense, which has been criticized most of the season, has now put up 38 runs in the last four games, and sadly two of those games the team has been on the losing end. Thursday saw the team have their biggest inning of the season, scoring seven runs in the 4th inning after trailing 5-0, sending 12 men to the plate. It was their biggest output for an inning since August 27th of last season when they scored 9 runs in the bottom of the second against the Royals. Francisco Khalen Saunders Jersey Lindor hit a pair of homers, and Michael Brantley and Edwin Encarnacion each had three hits in the setback. The team pounded out 15 hits and five walks, but it just goes to show that without pitching, it all means little.3. What's the Story with Cookie? Carlos Carrasco looked like a po sibly Cy Young candidate in the first month of the season, as he breezed through teams in his first five starts, allowing 9 runs in 35 innings in going 4-0 with a no-decision. In his last start against the Mariners he allowed five runs in three innings in an eventual 12-4 lo s, and in game one against the Jays he gave up 6 runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings. That means in his last two starts he's allowed He had allowed 11 runs on 14 hits. Clearly hes having some struggles right now, and while he's not saying anything about any injuries, it looks like he might be suffering from something. He's due to be back Tyreek Hill Jersey on the mound in the day game on May 9th in Milwaukee against Junior Guerra.
