Things you didn't know about WhatsApp | Global Radiance Review

The texting app WhatsApp is one that we adore. What's not to appreciate about free cross-platform voice calls, text, multimedia, and video messaging? You've probably been using WhatsApp on your phone for a while, but you might not have spent much time working with it to improve it to the next level. So for you to become a WhatsApp expert, we spent some time digging deeper into the program to discover its unique tips, tricks, adjustments, hacks, and secret features.

Make WhatsApp messages vanish instantly.

While we don't advise turning on this feature for your bae's message history, it might be helpful to manage more boisterous talks by setting WhatsApp messages to delete after a set time automatically.

Go into the WhatsApp chat you wish to modify the settings for, and then click the user's or the group chat's name at the top of the screen. The "Disappearing messages" option can be found in the following menu screen; scroll down to find it and tap it to turn it on.

The background of your WhatsApp conversations

You're too basic if you're still using WhatsApp's default chat wallpaper. It's elementary to swap it out with something more intriguing. To do that, open WhatsApp and select the Settings icon, which resembles a cog. From the following menu screen, choose Chats, and then hit Chat Wallpaper.

Your options will then become more apparent as a result. For example, you can set your background to a solid color, use a picture from your photos, or use one of the preloaded images from WhatsApp's gallery (it's worth looking through, there are some adorable pics).

When choosing one of WhatsApp's photographs, you will be given the option to decide whether you want the image to stay motionless or move slightly by selecting the "perspective" view.

In WhatsApp chats, use bold, italic, and crossed-out text.

Use bold text, italics, and even strikethrough to make your WhatsApp text messages more intriguing and effective at communicating your thoughts. Place an *asterisk* on either side of the word or phrase to make it bold. Italic writing is produced by placing an _underscore_ on either side of the word or phrase. Finally, add a tilde to either side of a word or phrase to make it bold.

Use the WhatsApp typewriter's hidden font.

Are you aware that WhatsApp features a hidden font you may use to differentiate your messages from the rest? A specific set of symbols can be used to activate a typeface that looks like an old typewriter.

To do it, you only need to add three slanting apostrophes: "'. Please note that on iOS, this apostrophe differs from the one you often see in your primary keyboard display. To see the proper symbol, you must press and hold the apostrophe; choose the first one that slopes diagonally downward from left to right.

Send a private WhatsApp message to several people.

In WhatsApp, you can send the same message to numerous contacts without including them in a group chat or letting them know who else has received it. Useful if you want to wish everyone a happy holiday season or communicate important news with an announcement. It is quick and easy to complete.

On the iOS chat screen, tap Broadcast Lists in the upper right corner, then New List in the lower right corner, and then enter the recipients you wish to receive the message. You must select New Broadcast from the conversations menu on Android devices.

Any communications you send through this approach will be received in WhatsApp conversation threads as individual messages.
