DEI’s Ultra 47 heat shield is rated at 1,800-degrees Fahrenheit of radiant heat and 1,350 degrees of direct heat. It features double-stitched construction, fits most turbochargers and is available in a kit form that includes a roll of exhaust wrap, two stainless steel locking ties and five feet of fastening wire.

Improving on those attributes, DEI’s Titanium & Onyx heat shields step up the heat resistance rating to 2,500 degrees of radiant heat and 1,800 degrees of direct heat. As you might have inferred from the product names, these are available in Titanium (Bronze) or Onyx (Black) colors, but they’re not just pretty. The Titanium & Onyx heat shields are double reinforced and feature silica insulation layers that improve thermal insulation helps retain flexibility over the product’s lifespan. The turbo anchors are also upgraded to stainless steel for long life and good looks, and these heat shields are also available for waste gates, as well.

For maximum protection and performance, DEI offers is Gen-3 Titanium & Onyx heat shields. They offer the same heat resistance, silica insulation, flexibility, and stainless steel anchors as the original Titanium & Onyx heat shields, but the Gen 3 versions are woven with stainless steel thread to increase durability and seam strength. Additional upgrades include a silicone coated outer shell for greater longevity and reduced oil and chemical soak, and a glass fiber/stainless blended inner layer and a stainless steel mesh inner liner for more strength and heat protection. These are available in both the bronze and black colorways as well and are available in kit form as well as waste gate applications.

A heat shield for your turbocharger can reduce under-hood temperatures and result in a quicker spool time of the turbo. DEI offers a number of options to suit a variety of applications and vehicle needs.
